Marco Scutaro (hip) will take grounders and batting practice Wednesday to make sure he's ready to play in Game 3 of the NLCS against the Cardinals. Scutaro is already penciled in the lineup for Game 3, but the Giants want to see how his left hip and knee respond to baseball activity. It appears likely he'll play, but Ryan Theriot will start at second base if he doesn't feel up to it.
