Manny Machado (knee) is scheduled to run sprints from 180 feet on Tuesday. Machado ran six 90-foot sprints on Monday and is ready to take the next step. There's a chance he could run the bases tomorrow and play in some extended spring training games by the end of the week. He would need about two or three extended spring training games before going out on an official minor league rehab assignment. He still has some hurdles to cross, but a return in the early part of May sounds feasible.
