Manning has been making strides with Low-A West Michigan and has been impressing his manager, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manning got off to a rough start when he was promoted to Low-A in early August, but he's dazzled in his last two starts. The 19-year-old covered 11 innings in those games, giving up just five hits and no runs. He also struck out 15. "This kid has potential to be a front-end guy, and he's going to be pitching in some pretty big games for the Detroit Tigers," West Michigan manager Mike Rabelo said. Manning rates as the organization's No. 5 prospect, and while it'll be a while until he reaches the majors, there is a lot of upside here.
