Manager Walt Weiss indicated Tuesday that he has no plans of deploying McKenry as the personal catcher for any of the team's starting pitchers, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. Instead, Weiss said any starts that McKenry or Wilin Rosario receive in place of starting catcher Nick Hundley would be dictated by off days and the handedness of opposing pitchers. Since McKenry isn't as polished of a defender as Nick Hundley and also bats right-handed, expect McKenry's starts to be mostly limited to scenarios where the Rockies play a day game after a night game. The presence of three catchers on the roster could make it exceedingly difficult for McKenry to surpass the 192 plate appearances he saw in 2014.
