There's still no timetable for when the southpaw may be able to return to action, even though this recent progression bodes well from an overall recovery standpoint. It's almost impossible to predict Smyly's return until begins throwing from the mound, but the Mariners would love to get his arm in their injury-riddled rotation that includes the absences of Felix Hernandez (shoulder) and Hisashi Iwakuma (shoulder).
