Manager Paul Molitor confirmed Monday that Mauer (quad) will be held out of the lineup both Monday and Tuesday, LaVelle Neal of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Molitor hinted Sunday that he would hold Mauer out from Sunday through Tuesday, and it turns out he will indeed do just that, as he gives Mauer time off to rest his sore quads. The Twins will release another update on Mauer's status prior to the first pitch of Wednesday's evening matchup with the Tigers.
