Manager Ned Yost said Duffy (elbow) could return from the 10-day disabled list next week, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Duffy has been sidelined since Aug. 26 with a left elbow impingement, but he appears to be nearing a return to the big club. The 28-year-old is scheduled to throw a simulated game Monday, and if all goes well, it sounds like he could rejoin the Royals' rotation shortly thereafter. When he does return, Kansas City may choose to operate a six-man rotation down the stretch.
