Manager John Gibbons said he's going to try a platoon system at leadoff. Pillar will hit first against lefties while Saunders, a left-handed hitter, will take the role against right-handers, the Toronto Sun reports.

Pillar hit leadoff to open the season, but after a terrible start, Gibbons moved him down to the bottom-half of the order in favor of Saunders. However, since Pillar's bat started to heat up, Gibbons had him batting leadoff again on Saturday with Saunders, who has also hit well batting leadoff, hitting in the No.7 spot. Pillar has hit .373 since April 17 with a .408 on-base percentage and .567 slugging percentage.
