Manager Joe Girardi said Tuesday that Ellsbury continues to experience concussion symptoms and remains without a timetable for a return, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Recover timetables for concussion can often vary wildly in length, so until Ellsbury is able to resume working out, it will be tough to pinpoint when exactly he'll be able to return from the disabled list. Aaron Hicks has settled in as the Yankees' primary center fielder while Ellsbury has been out, and has probably performed well enough this season to warrant at least semi-regular at-bats even once Ellsbury is activated. With the uncertain return date and the specter of potentially sitting a couple times per week once he's back, Ellsbury is beginning to look like a drop candidate in shallower leagues.
