Manager Don Mattingly said Locke (shoulder) could take Vance Worley's place in the starting rotation upon activation, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
While nothing has been confirmed yet, Mattingly suggested that Worley would likely head to the bullpen if Locke joins the rotation. He compiled a 1.77 ERA and 22:2 K:BB across 20 innings (seven starts) between High-A Jupiter and Double-A Jacksonville during his four-game rehab assignment. Should he get the ball Thursday, Locke would face Zack Greinke and the Diamondbacks.
