Manager Bob Melvin indicated Sunday that Doolittle's (shoulder) return may be slated for late May, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Doolittle will pitch from a mound Sunday, but appears to be over a month from a potential return to the bullpen. Tyler Clippard will likely continue in the closer duties while he's on the shelf, and there's no guarantee Doolittle will return to the role when he does rejoin the bullpen.
