Manager Andy green revealed Tuesday that the Padres re-signed Richard to serve as a starter, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Padres have one of the worst starting rotations entering 2017, and Green said only two people have spots in the rotation thus far, with Richard being one of them. He posted a 2.52 ERA in nine starts and two relief appearances with San Diego last season and could find himself as the Opening Day starter depending on his spring.
