Making his season debut against the team that drafted him, Chris Tillman took a shutout into the ninth Wednesday and ended up allowing two unearned runs in 8 1/3 innings in a win over the Mariners. A Robert Andino error cost Tillman a possible shutout, but he can't be disappointed about today. Tillman was starting to look like a lost cause a year ago, but his velocity, which had dropped significantly, is now better than ever, as he was regularly in the mid-90s today. He might be inconsistent, but don't be surprised if he turns into a big asset in AL-only leagues the rest of the way. Even mixed leaguers may want to take a shot.
