Lynn was outstanding Saturday against the Giants, completing eight shutout innings while allowing just one hit, walking four and striking our four. He did not factor into the decision, however.
EDGE Analysis
Lynn was in line for the victory after departing, but the St. Louis bullpen wound up blowing the team's small lead in the ninth inning to leave the starter with a no-decision. Since the All-Star break, the 30-year-old has been pitching like an ace, logging a 1.99 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP in 10 second-half starts. He'll look to keep the good times going in his next start Thursday in San Diego.
