Luis Rodriguez has elected free agency. Rodriguez opted to become a free agent after being outrighted off the 40-man roster. The 31-year-old infielder batted .197/.299/.333 with two homers, 14 RBI and a .633 OPS over 139 plate appearances with the Mariners this season. He will likely have to settle for a spring training invite somewhere.
