Luis Mendoza reported improvement Thursday in his bruised left hamstring. Mendoza suffered the injury Wednesday when he was struck by a batted ball. It's not clear when he'll return to game action. The 28-year-old right-hander has an 0.77 ERA and 12/1 K/BB ratio over 11 1/3 innings this spring.
