Luis Mendoza allowed no runs on four hits over five innings in Sunday's win over the White Sox. It was his first outing since returning from the World Baseball Classic. He threw 63 pitches and finished with four strikeouts and just one walk. Mendoza now has a 0.82 ERA in three appearances (two starts) this spring. The Royals are planning to use him as a long reliever to start the season.
