Lugo (0-2) allowed three runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out three over 6.2 innings, but was the losing pitcher in Friday's 8-1 loss to San Francisco.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old was solid in his first start of the season but, despite his efforts, failed to outlast opposing starter Johnny Cueto for the Mets' third straight loss. Even though it was only a spot start -- Lugo had made nine relief appearances this season prior to filling in for Steven Matz -- with a 3.04 ERA and 2.68 FIP over 23.2 innings pitched, the right-hander could've earned another time through the rotation.
