Locke will be moved to the Pirates bullpen Sunday, Stephen J. Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

After his debacle in his start on Wednesday (4.1 IP, 5 ER), Locke will be transferred to the bullpen. With Ryan Vogelsong back from injury and Ivan Nova being acquired from the Yankees, the Pirates have room to work with in the starting rotation so it's not a huge blow to move Locke to a relief role. In addition, Arquimedes Caminero was traded to the Mariners on Saturday so Pittsburgh had a spot in the bullpen to fill. After giving up five earned runs in three of his last five starts, a transition to a relief role could be what the 28-year-old needs to regain his form.
