Locke (shoulder) could begin his throwing program Saturday, but won't be rushed back.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Don Mattingly has continued to exercise caution with Locke, even if that means he won't be ready for Opening Day. "We've got a long season and we've still got a lot of time in camp," said Mattingly. "We don't want to force him into a 30-day window." Locke's recent MRI showed no structural damage, but this is certainly a situation to monitor as spring training continues. The veteran southpaw is expected to compete for a rotation spot upon his return.
