Leake (8-9) was crushed for seven runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out two in Thursday's loss to the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Things continue to spiral downward for the 28-year-old who has now allowed six-plus runs in three straight starts. Thursday's disappointment marked the first time all season that Leake failed the last at least six innings in consecutive outings. The right-hander's 36-inning streak without issuing a walk ended when Adam Duvall drew a free pass in the sixth which set up a four-run frame for the Reds. The damage done by Leake's former team raised his ERA to 4.80, its worst mark since May 10. The good news is that he won't have to wait long to get a chance at revenge. Leake's next start rolls around Tuesday against the Reds, but this time he'll be toeing the mound at home.
