Latos (5-1) gave up five runs on 11 hits and two walks over 5.1 innings in a loss against the Astros on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The good news is that if we told you prior to the season that Latos wouldn't suffer his first loss until May 18, you probably would have guessed that it'd be because he'd spent about a month on the DL. Instead, he was a surprising success story early this season. Unfortunately, those first four starts have at this point been overshadowed by the four he's made since -- a 20.2-inning span in which Latos has allowed 18 earned runs on a whopping 36 hits and 10 walks. His 22:18 K:BB and career-low fastball velocity don't offer much hope for a return to the glory days.
