Pillar agreed to a one-year, $5 million contract with New York on Monday, Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports.
EDGE Analysis
The two sides were said to be in serious talks earlier in the evening, per Jon Heyman of MLB Network, and an agreement has since been reached. Pillar will provide the Mets with outfield depth and figures to also see plenty of starting opportunities. He has the flexbility to play all three outfield positions, though he's played primarily in center and right field throughout his big-league career.
