Lagares (muscle strain) is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Cubs. Manager Terry Collins had suggested a second day off was possible for Lagares, who has been nursing a slight muscle strain underneath his right armpit for close to a week now. He will indeed sit Wednesday as Kirk Nieuwenhuis again mans center field for the Mets, but Lagares' MRI was negative, so it doesn't seem as though he's in danger of missing extended action.
