Kyle McClellan (lat) is expected to throw off a mound by May 1. McClellan, who joined the Rangers on a minor league deal this winter, has been sidelined since the middle of March with a strained right lat muscle. The 26-year-old right-hander could be an option for the starting rotation or the bullpen if he can avoid setbacks.
