Kyle Gibson was pulled after allowing six runs -- five earned -- in two innings Friday against the Yankees. Gibson has been quite the boom-or-bust pitcher this year, with six outings of zero runs allowed and now three in which he's given up six or seven runs over two innings. He also had one in which he gave up seven runs in three innings. The end result has been a perfectly average 7-7 record and 4.17 ERA, but the average outings have been few and far between.
