Kyle Gibson turned in a third straight scoreless start Wednesday, allowing just one hit over seven innings against the Red Sox. This was easily the best of the trio, with eight strikeouts and no walks. Not only was the eight strikeouts a season high, but he had never even had back-to-back starts with more than eight strikeouts total this year. His previous high was five against the Astros on June 7. Gibson remains a long shot to amass long-term value in mixed leagues, and we wouldn't want to take the chance on another strong outing with a road start against the Angels next on the schedule.
