Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Kyle Gibson has been placed on the bereavement list. The veteran hurler's next scheduled start will occur on Tuesday against the Braves so there's a decent chance he won't end up missing any time. The 34-year-old right-hander has posted a 4.60 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 84:31 K/BB ratio over 107 2/3 innings (20 starts) on the season. Reliever Mark Appel was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.
