Kyle Gibson has been placed on the Triple-A DL with a right groin strain. This is more or less a phantom injury designed to shut Gibson down for the season because he reached his predetermined innings limit. The rookie right-hander posted an ugly 6.53 ERA and 29/20 K/BB ratio in 51 innings across his first 10 starts in the majors, but is a better-than-average bet to open next season in Minnesota's rotation. Fellow top prospect Trevor May was promoted from Double-A to take his spot on Rochester's roster.
