Kyle Gibson allowed one run in 4 1/3 innings and struck out four Wednesday in his start against the Cardinals. Gibson has been effective in three of his four outings and he wasn't all that bad in the either, so his ERA currently sits at 2.70. Still, for the Twins to carry him as their fifth starter, they'd have to jettison two out-of-options pitchers in Vance Worley and Scott Diamond and then stick the more-deserving Samuel Deduno in the pen. It seems like quite a long shot.
