Kimbrel injured his knee running before Friday's game and is awaiting the results of an MRI, the Boston Globe's Pete Abraham reports.

Manager John Farrell admitted after Friday's game that Kimbrel will not pitch in the All-Star game, and the team expects to know more about the severity of the injury Saturday. Junichi Tazawa (shoulder) is also ailing, so Koji Uehara would be the obvious option for saves for however long Kimbrel is out. It seems safe to rule Kimbrel out for Saturday and Sunday's games, considering he has already been ruled out for the All-Star game.
