Kimbrel has been traded to the Padres as part of a surprise blockbuster deal that also includes Melvin Upton Jr. going to the Padres, as first reported by Fangraphs' Kiley McDaniel. It's not that it's a surprise that the Braves have traded Kimbrel, just the timing and the location. This obviously doesn't hurt his value.
