Kiermaier (wrist) has started to take swings without a ball in his rehab, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old outfielder has been progressively working his way back from May 24 surgery to repair multiple broken bones in his left hand. The most recent step of taking what's commonly referred to as "dry swings" against air is naturally an essential one, and marks the first time Kiermaier has handled a bat since the injury. To date, the young slugger appears on track to return within the original 8-to-10 week timetable provided after the procedure.
