Kiermaier went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks and a stolen base in Sunday's 7-3 Opening Day win over the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Kiermaier filled the No. 2 role in the order to perfection Sunday, setting the table for potential scoring opportunities with all but one of his at-bats. Armed with a new six-year extension coming into 2017, both the team and Kiermaier have high expectations for a breakout campaign after three solid albeit unspectacular campaigns to open his career. Sunday's effort featured a glimpse of virtually everything Kiermaier brings to the table as an offensive threat, although the 26-year-old outfielder will also look to build on the career-high 12 home runs he hit over 105 games last season.
