Kiermaier (hand) is particularly limited with respect to physical activity over the next few days following his hand surgery, Sam Blum of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rays' outfielder is currently limited to just hand exercises and core rotations over the next five days, as any perspiration from more strenuous activity could easily lead to his partially-exposed surgical cut becoming infected. The 26-year-old reports feeling relatively pain-free following the procedure, with the exception of the loosening exercises he utilizes to loosen up the tendons in his hand. Kiermaier is being particularly diligent with his diet during the period of forced inactivity, and is trying to maintain a positive attitude ahead of his long absence. "Just being out for an extended period of time was tough for me to accept," Kiermaier said. "But I've accepted it now."
