Kevin Kernan of the New Yost Post reports that the Mets have "not been overwhelmed" by the shape Ruben Tejada reported to camp in. Tejada attended an offseason conditioning program at the request of the Mets, but a source told Kernan that the shortstop "looks pretty much the same" as he did before. It's clear that he's still not in the team's good graces, but with Omar Quintanilla currently the only thing standing in his way, he still holds the starting shortstop job. The Mets, of course, have been linked to Stephen Drew for some time now, but they appear at the moment only willing to offer him a one-year, $9.5 million deal.
