Kepler is starting as the designated hitter Friday against the White Sox after leaving the previous night's game against the Angels with a bruised right knee.

Kepler crashed into the wall in Thursday's contest, but manager Rocco Baldelli downplayed the injury after the game, so it's little surprise to see Kepler back in action. Marwin Gonzalez will play right field Friday.
