Kennedy gave up three runs over four innings but had six strikeouts in Sunday's spring training loss to the Cubs. Despite a 4.85 ERA this spring, manager Ned Yost said he wasn't worried. "He's a refined strike thrower and his command has been off a little bit. But you see it getting polished up every time out," Yost told MLB.com.
EDGE Analysis
We wouldn't be too worried about Kennedy's spring stats since he's a veteran with a set spot in the rotation. Kennedy disappointed with a 4.28 ERA last year despite playing in Petco Park, but he did have a 9.3 K/9. He gave up 31 home runs last season, so moving to cavernous Kauffman Stadium could help him rebound.
