Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com hears that the Mets have submitted a formal extension offer to David Wright, and Wright's representatives have made a counter proposal. Terms of the offers aren't known. It's not really much of an update, as it probably should have been assumed that the two sides had done as much given that talks have been ongoing for a while now. The Mets would like to lock up both Wright and R.A. Dickey to multi-year deals, but it's probably more likely that Wright gets a new contract.
