Kelly (biceps) will throw a minor-league game Friday instead of Boston's exhibition game against the Braves, ESPN Boston reports. Red Sox manager John Farrell is talking about carrying four starters early in April as Boston can get by without a fifth starter until April 15th. As Kelly now projects as the fifth starter, he could be placed on the 15-day disabled list to open the season and still be ready to go for the 15th.
