Washington Nationals catcher Keibert Ruiz is getting a day off on Thursday against the San Diego Padres. Ruiz will get a breather in a matinee game after a night game. In his absence, Riley Adams will do the catching and hit eighth in the lineup against Padres left-hander Blake Snell.
