Justin Maxwell hit a grand slam off Joakim Soria in the bottom of the 10th inning Sunday to give the Royals a 4-0 win over the Rangers. The long homer clinched the AL West for the A's and bailed out Ned West after a couple of shaky decisions in the inning (pinch-running for Billy Butler, even though he was a trail runner, and sending up George Kottaras to pinch-hit for Lorenzo Cain). It was Maxwell's fifth homer in 76 at-bats for the Royals after he hit two in 137 at-bats for the Astros.
