Josh Tomlin's injured right wrist will be in a splint for seven days. An MRI on the wrist showed soft tissue inflammation. The Indians aren't sure when Tomlin was injured, but head trainer Lonnie Soloff speculates that it may have occurred because the right-hander gripped the ball too tightly in the rain during his last start. It's not clear how long he'll be out. "Every pitcher has their areas of normal post-performance soreness," said Soloff. "Josh had soreness in the back of his wrist. That's not a normal area of soreness for him."
