Josh Tomlin was undone by the longball Friday, serving up six hits - including three homers -- and four runs over 6 2/3 innings in a loss to the Tigers. Tomlin was unscored upon through the first five innings, but a two-run shot from Austin Jackson in the sixth and solo blasts from Alex Avila and Jhonny Peralta in the seventh did him in. We certainly shouldn't be surprised, as the right-hander had already allowed 20 dingers coming into the game. While his peripherals remain unimpressive, Tomlin has remained effective much longer than we anticipated, as he sports a solid 4.01 ERA and 1.03 WHIP on the year. He'll face the Mariners next week.
