Josh Tomlin struggled in Tuesday's loss to the Rays, surrendering four runs on seven hits over his 5 2/3 innings of work. Tomlin walked one and struck out one in the game. The Rays jumped on him right out of the gate, as Carlos Pena belted a two-run homer just two batters into the game. Luke Scott added an RBI triple before the inning ended, which would eventually stand as the game winning run. Tomlin has been mediocre at best for the Tribe, posting a 5-6 record and 5.51 ERA over his 15 starts. He'll look for better results when he takes on the Orioles at home on Sunday.
