Josh Johnson's agent, Matt Sosnick, told MLB Trade Rumors that his client underwent minor elbow surgery Tuesday morning to remove bone spurs. The surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews. The good news is that no issues were found with his elbow ligament and he will resume throwing in five weeks, so he should have plenty of time to get ready for spring training. The 29-year-old posted an ugly 6.20 ERA over 16 starts this season and figures to look for a one-year deal in free agency this winter so that he can reestablish his value and test the open market again after 2014.
