Josh Johnson (forearm) will not pitch again this season. It's hardly a big surprise at this point, as Dr. James Andrews recently shut him down from throwing for two weeks due to a right forearm strain. The good news is that he won't need surgery, but there simply won't be enough time for him to get back into game action. The 29-year-old will head into free agency with a disappointing 6.30 ERA over 16 starts. Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com speculates that the Blue Jays likely won't bother making him a qualifying offer.
