Josh Johnson (elbow) will be brought along slowly this spring to keep him healthy, Corey Brock of MLB.com reports. Johnson had surgery in October to remove bone spurs from his pitching elbow, but he's already thrown three bullpen sessions this spring and he hopes to throw two more before pitchers and catchers report on February 13. Johnson signed with the Padres in November, and the team is counting on him to be a valuable member of the rotation this season. Assuming health and with his horrendous 2013 behind him, Johnson is a nice bounce-back candidate this year.
