Josh Hamilton (thumb) took batting practice on Thursday. Everything went well, and Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Hamilton could begin a rehab assignment in about a week. "He's kept himself as close as he can to staying in baseball shape with some of the drills he's done," Scioscia said. It sounds like Hamilton should be activated from the disabled list before the end of the month.
