Josh Donaldson hit a three-run homer Friday as the A's edged the Red Sox 4-3. Donaldson's first-inning homer accounted for Oakland's only runs until the eighth, when Coco Crisp singled in Kyle Blanks to break the tie. The homer was Donaldson's 18th on the year, but first since June 6. He's still batting just .181 for the month.
